70707 Summer-Fall Buildup
The eSATSi board/task team met last week and finalized itsi buildup plan for the 2008 legislative season. After three years of focused advocacy and two years of success we believe that Arizona’s governance is ready to address a ten year eLearningi system implementation for all of our 1,000,000 going on 1,400,000 students.
We reviewed the advice from a number of national and state advocate organizations who were at the National Education Computing Conference. We decided to update our message, create new advocacy means and materials, build a strong advocacy force and meet with 90 legislators in 90 days.
July and August:
Put the final touches on our new advocacy web site.
Contact our grass roots supporters and group them by legislative district cadres.
Develop the 2008 message.
Create a 3-5 minute graphic animation of the message including scenario statistics.
Integrate all major Arizona K-12 policy initiatives into an eLearning implementation framework.
Redraft and downsize the 2004 eSATS document into a 30-50 page document that Includes the ten year scenario driven model which feeds the ten year financial model.
Create a draft specification for the 2008 legislationi.
August – November
Meet with all major organization leaders and legislators from our governance, K-12, higher education, business and eLearning enterprise communities.
Integrate their current interests and policy initiatives into eSATS design.
Build our action team with players from all communities.
Write the legislation.

Seems straight forward. Should be a lot of fun. Want to come along for the ride?
