Global Competition and US Brilliance

Many of us will be long gone by 2050 but others and our kids and grandkid will certainly by be immersed in the global economy. A Goldman Sach’s study has China’s economy is #2 in 2016. India passes Great Britain, France and Italy by the mid 2020’s. By 2050 China has a $45 trillion economy, US $35 trillion, India $27 trillion and Great (or maybe not so great) Britain is at $4 trillion and the only European country in the G7.

Even at these levels, there will still be significant disparity between the rich and disadvantaged-rural poor in China and India. How can the United States maintain itsi standing and also insure that has for the first time, for any nation, realize the potential of all its citizens:

The only possible institution is its universal K-12 education system.

The only possible avenue is to transform this system into a tutoring like instructional model that is interactive, individualized, and addresses the needs and aspirations of the student.

The only possible means to implement this model is through eLearningi.

The only possible structure to implement eLearning is through a system that focuses on the teacher and student as the learning nexus, transforms school by school, and is supported by a statewide system of broadbandi, data, and intellectual infrastructure.

The only possible scenario to achieve this transformationi is for one state to be the innovation leader across the chasm to pave the way for the rest to follow.

The only possible time line is six to ten years for the first state, with twenty years for all states to follow suit.

The only possible result is for the United States to lead the world in 2050 with quality economic development and quality jobs for all its citizens
